Canes 2018 RHP Jaret Montenery commits to Winthrop

Canes 2018 RHP and Waccamaw (SC) product Jaret Montenery has committed to Winthrop University and Head Coach Tom Riginos. During the fall of 2016 Jaret played under the guidance of Central 2018 coach Mike Williams. Canes GM Dan Gitzen had this to say about Jaret. “Jaret is a smaller framed RHP with a big arm and a high energy delivery. With a high 80s fastball and a hammer breaking ball Jaret’s skill set screams closer but his ability to minimize pitch counts and miss barrels give him the opportunity To extend himself into a starting role. On top of that Jaret is extremely athletic which makes his potential ceiling very high and exciting to think about.” We would like to congratulate Jaret and the Montenery family on his commitment to Winthrop: you can see Jaret playing with the Canes in 2017
