Evoshield Canes 2014 Utility and Poquoson High School product Chase Pinder recently made a commitment to The Clemson Tigers baseball program, and Head Coach Jack Leggett. Both of Chase’s older brothers played in the Evoshield Canes organization during their high school years, and brother Chad has become a house hold name in the ACC during a big junk of the season last year he led the ACC in batting average for the Virginia Tech Hokies, and Head Coach Pete Hughes squad. Canes GM Jeff Petty had this to say about Chase “The Pinders has been a long line of athletic baseball players that know how to play the game the right way. There dad who played professionally has really done a great job with all 3 of his boys not only are they great baseball players but I can’t be more serious when I say they are even better people. Chase possesses something that a lot of players wish they had, but unfortunately you can’t teach it, and that is game breaking speed. Chase has ran the 60 in as low as a 6.6, and I believe he will get quicker. As a sophomore last year he was an all district shortstop, and we put him in the outfield for the first time in his life this summer, and he never missed a beat. One thing his older brother could do is hit, and he has really caught on himself, he has become a great in game hitter. When you put Chase in the game regardless of whats on the mound he is going to normally have a good at bat, and make solid contact. Clemson is getting a really good player, and also a player that is very serious about his baseball career that is only going to get better from here.” You can see Chase with Evoshield Canes in 2013 summer, and fall seasons. Congratulations to Chase, and the Pinder Family!
