Canes Missouri Announcement
Canes Baseball is excited to announce the addition of Canes Missouri to our organization. We are excited to launch one of the premier national baseball and softball programs in a state that is loaded with a ton of talent in all ages. The addition of Canes will provide Missouri athletes with true national level access, exposure, player development resources, and a powerhouse brand with outstanding people.
Canes will be initially launching in the Kansas City area with expansion across the state. We are excited for the opportunity our organization will provide to players and families. Missouri will be kicking off tryouts in early October for the 2024 season with winter training starting in December. There is no better time to join The Canes!
The launch of Canes Missouri is under the Canes, Great Plains territory where we have existing people and resources in place that will be helping Missouri get a jump start. Missouri is genuinely a hot bed of talent that will thrive by us putting in a solid foundation of resources for the long haul. “It’s a great way for us to share the values we represent as Canes with athletes there and to bring in a player development platform behind Scott Miller’s leadership. Miller is an excellent match to lead the Missouri area as he’s a long time baseball veteran, a current high school coach, he is active in the education system and is passionate about the game”, says Edie Thompson, Canes Great Plains Regional Director. Miller has been with other organizations and knows the differences between what is in the market and what we can do with Canes to raise the bar in Missouri. “We are excited to support Scott’s success and as he is motivated to help kids in the same way we are in Oklahoma and Kansas. It’s exciting to be a part of representing the best style of baseball in the country. I have had the honor of partnering with my former Wichita state teammate Billy Hall and its incredible to see what he is doing in Canes Kansas so now welcoming Scott to our Canes family will make this upcoming year even more exciting to be in the Great Plains,” says Chris Wimmer, General Manager Canes Oklahoma.
“My passion for the sport and coaching, coupled with my background as a teacher gave me a strong desire to want to provide an environment in which I can help more kids grow as players and people. With The Canes history, resources, and nationwide brand I will be able to create an organization where players and families are getting a valuable experience. I look forward to growing this brand across the state of Missouri, says Scott Miller, new Canes Missouri General Manager. Time to get rolling!
